Breast Cancer Facts

• Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women
• Women who live to age 90 have a 1 in 9 chance of
  developing breast cancer
• In 2008 it is estimated that 22,400 women will be diagnosed with
  breast cancer, and 5,300 will die of the disease
• Since 1999 the incidence of breast cancer has stabilized
• The 5-year survival rate is 87% for all women diagnosed with breast cancer
